Lions International

Lions International, based in Oak Brook, IL, is a global service organization dedicated to making a positive impact on communities worldwide. With a vast network of dedicated members called Lions, they focus on diverse projects in areas like vision and hearing health, youth empowerment, hunger relief, and environmental sustainability, implementing impactful initiatives to foster fellowship and goodwill across borders. As a Senior Designer at Lions Clubs International since February 2018, my role involves collaborating with writers and designers to create marketing materials across various mediums like traditional design, motion, digital, 3D, and photography. I also contribute to the layout and editorial content of the in-house print and digital magazine, while providing design guidance to teams and collaborating with translation teams for multi-language creative layouts and managing outside vendor projects.

International Convention Montréal

Lions Clubs International hosted their 104th annual convention in Montreal, Canada in 2022, bringing together Lions Club members from around the world for a week of networking, training, and socializing. Attendees enjoyed educational sessions, keynote speeches, leadership training seminars, and events such as a parade and a trade show, which showcased new products and services. The convention provides an excellent opportunity for members to connect and share ideas while celebrating the organization’s achievements.

As Senior Graphic Designer for the Lions Clubs International marketing team, I developed creative assets for the event, including logo and branding, out-of-home advertising, large format printing, digital media, video and animation, and more.

International President Campaign

In 2023, I collaborated with our team of marketing creatives to develop the international campaign for our incoming international president, Brian Sheehan. The campaign’s core message, “Together We Can,” resonated globally, inspiring Lions to make positive contributions within their communities. I played a pivotal role as the photographer, capturing and editing photos during a location shoot at Bird Island, Minnesota, for various campaign materials, including brochures, magazine layouts, certificates, and more. The campaign underscored President Sheehan’s belief in the power of teamwork, evident in his service and partnership with his spouse, Lori. This theme of unity and collective action was exemplified through vibrant visuals and compelling design, fostering a sense of shared purpose among Lions around the world.

The Service Journey

The Lions International Service Journey program is a comprehensive initiative crafted to guide and empower Lions members in their impactful service pursuits. This initiative offers a well-structured framework that steers members through their service endeavors effectively, ensuring meaningful contributions to communities. The program is structured into four distinct phases: Learn, Discover, Act, and Celebrate. By equipping Lions with vital tools, resources, and training, the Service Journey enhances their skills, knowledge, and connections.

For this project, I played a pivotal role in creating a dynamic visual identity that captured attendees’ attention on the convention floor. Through the use of vibrant and captivating large wall panels, engaging and informative on-screen animations, and an interactive print brochure, I successfully drew attendees into the world of The Service Journey. The innovative design concept included an interactive element where Lions collected passport stamps for each panel they visited, adding an exciting layer of engagement to the experience. This design approach not only elevated the program’s visibility but also enhanced the attendees’ engagement and understanding of the Service Journey’s transformative phases.

Photography

During my tenure at Lions Clubs International, I have become their primary in-house photographer. I handle a wide range of photography needs, including product, portrait, campaign, and event photography. To reduce outsourcing, the organization invested in professional photography equipment that I use for on-site and location shooting. In addition, I coordinate talent and crew to help us achieve our photography goals.
