Navy Pier

As a freelance graphic designer, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Navy Pier to craft creative elements for their annual holiday event, Light Up The Lake. Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Navy Pier is a storied cultural landmark and entertainment hub that has captivated visitors since its establishment in 1916. Home to a captivating array of attractions, from amusement rides to theaters, dining options, and one-of-a-kind shops, Navy Pier offers a dynamic experience for both locals and tourists. Serving as a gateway to explore the city’s rich history and awe-inspiring skyline, Navy Pier remains a central focal point that continues to enchant and draw people into the heart of Chicago’s vibrant identity.

Light Up The Lake

“Light Up The Lake” is an annual holiday event that takes place at Navy Pier in Chicago. The event is renowned for its impressive display of over 80,000 LED lights, which illuminate the pier and the Chicago skyline. Attendees can enjoy a variety of festive activities, such as ice skating, Ferris wheel rides, and seasonal treats. The event is free of charge and has become a beloved tradition in Chicago, attracting visitors from all over the city and beyond. As the art director for the inaugural event in 2021, I worked with the Navy Pier team to create various creative assets, including the event logo and branding, maps, large-scale signage, and email and social media marketing materials.
