The Chicago Cubs baseball team boasts a profound legacy intertwined with the essence of Chicago, captivating fans with its distinct identity since its founding in 1876. This iconic Major League Baseball franchise, known for its iconic blue and red uniforms and legendary home at Wrigley Field, made history by clinching the 2016 World Series championship.

As a freelance graphic designer, I’ve collaborated with the Cubs on various projects, contributing to engaging creative for ticket sales and their annual Cubs Convention. The innovative “Build Your Own Baseball Pack” (BYOB) introduced for the 2023 season allowed fans to secure tickets for anticipated regular-season games ahead of single-game ticket release. My involvement extends to enhancing the Cubs Convention experience across four events, including the recent 2023 edition.

Ticket Packs

The Chicago Cubs introduced the Build Your Own Baseball Pack (BYOB) for the 2023 season, enabling fans to purchase tickets for highly anticipated regular-season games ahead of the February release of single-game tickets. Fans can select from a total of 81 games, with the option to add more, starting from 12 games. Additionally, the Cubs offered preset 8-game ticket packs with various themes such as Fridays, Sundays, rival matchups, and summer games. To promote the BYOB pack, I collaborated with the Cubs to create digital ads in various sizes, including static ads, animated GIF ads, and animated video ads.

Cubs Convention

Since 1986, the Chicago Cubs Convention has been an annual three-day event held in January that brings together fans, players, coaches, and front-office personnel of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. Attendees can enjoy player and alumni appearances, autograph signings, interactive exhibits, panel discussions, and other activities that cater to fans of all ages. The convention presents a unique opportunity for fans to connect with their favorite players, get insights into the upcoming season, and show their support for the Cubs. The event has become a cherished tradition for Cubs fans and a much-anticipated highlight of the offseason for the team. As a collaborator with the Cubs, I have contributed to the development of creative assets and branding for four conventions, including the most recent 2023 Cubs Convention. My work has encompassed various deliverables, such as a calendar giveaway, printed program, passes, vendor maps, large format window clings, and static video screens.
